In a current research project we are endeavouring to develop an understanding of the interrelationship between people and their homes in terms of the meanings attributed to spatial form and the personal experience of the home through an extended period of the life cycle. I shall attempt to discuss our research in terms of recent developments in architectural theory and design which can be seem as a reassessment of history, symbolic values and, in som instances, as an attempt to reconsider architect - user relations.
