Turkey as a developing country still continues the urbanization process in most of y•ts metropolitan cities and settlements due to the incompleted transition period from rural to urban life. Unfortunately this urbanization process which normally had to be the extension of modernization in the 20th century, definitely has based on migration in relation with the rapid social and economic change in Turkey. Today this migration still continues from eastern to the western regions of the country and it is inevitable to determine the population movement which form the major element of this rapid change in Turkey. Consequently this migration process which develops in heterogeneous patterns destruct and effect the homogenity of the built environments in metropolitan settlements.
