Members of the Education Network of IAPS at Eindhoven, 1998, discussed their concerns about the waning status of environment/behavior research in design education around the world. At that time we agreed to return to our home regions and survey architecture and interior design programs with the following four queries: Is environment/behavior research part of your curriculum? If yes, at what level? In what mode is it taught? What texts are required or suggested? This symposium will present the results of the survey compiled by each participating member and invite discussion regarding the status of and strategies for sustaining environment/behavior research in design education.
