Station square, main hall and passenger underpass of the Graz central railroad station freshly renovated according to a CD manual were evaluated by a POE (post-occupancy evaluation) to test their user-friendliness and subjective security, also at night. The new surface material was found to be aesthetic, but the speed-up concept of passenger transition was regarded as socially cold by railway users. The POE results are now used by the Austrian Federal Railways for a revision of the CD manual and a railroad station marketing plan.
