Within the context of the development of Environmental Psychology in Brazil, we describe and analyse the teaching and research endeavours at Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in Natal, Brazil. They started in 1983, as an elective discipline within the Course of Psychology, and soon a bridge was built between Psychology and Architecture, leading to the development of additional disciplines and research projects. Nowadays the postgraduate programs in both areas have incorporated «green» themes and broader social approaches, including merging efforts towards distinct academic and applied areas, as well as interchange with other regions of Brazil and other countries.
