It is pointed out in this paper that; reconstructing a new cultural and architectural identity has been the mutual problem of all Peripheral Countries that have experienced economic and industrial development not as a process spread through time but as a necessity of development through Westernization during a later period. In this context this study will be composed of three sections:1-examining of the architectural identity debates/concepts in the Republican Turkey; 2-historical analysis of the architectural products related with these concepts; 3-a critical examplification through the evaluation of Regionalism which has gained its importance in the context of architectural identity debates since 80's.
