This study aims to shed some light on the privacy problems of Turkish people in their homes, which are affected by several factors such as Huhammedaofsm, socio-economical-situation of people and the cultural transition. Privacy behaviour was studied at three levels in relation to the increase of distance among the people and the hierarchical levels of built environment such as personcl privacy - personel distance, social privacy - social distance, public privacy - public distance. Reviewing the historical background of the subject, a survey was designed to make a preliminary research in working class homos,to find out the interrelation between the privacy behaviour of people and the physical setting in theft homes and also the appropriation of space to their needs.
