Qualitative research usually does not result in figures or tables. The question. of its usefulnes is consequently more urgent than in case of quantitative research. It is the belief of the author, that qualitative research has some possibilities which deserve more attention as is usual given to. Subject of this paper is an evaluation-study of a new building for psycho-geriatric patients. A procedure will be presented about how to apply findings from qualitative research into the practice of decision-making in the development of new plans. Inducement for this study was a request from the designer for an evaluation of a new building for some hundred patients, about six months after coming in use.
