"Studying the relationships between Space/Society, an important bulk of sociological researches have been carried out on the basis of a disjunctive approach between analyses regarding the "production" of urban spaces, and those which are related to the process of appropriation of urban environment. Reducing in such a way the interference and reciprocity relationships between these two approaches, implies for the least to leave out the opportunity of trying to grasp all components of conflicts to which town planning is constantly facing. The aim of this research, carried out in a. French new town, is to analyse the conflictual relationships between the different social actors involved in planning, building, management and the users of public spaces, and their consequences regarding the evolution of physical aspects of these spaces."
