"It is assumed that the assessed value of the "noisiness" of sound is determined not only by the physical property of the sound, but also by the personality of the assessors, and visual stimuli from the sound source. This paper reports on the results of some experiments on the assessment of noises and a factor analysis of auditive and visual impressions. The subjects were given a Naudaley Personality Inventory, Then while the subjects listened to the same sounds with different visual stimuli, noises were evaluated as less noisy with pleasant stimuli than with unpleasant stimuli."
