"The paper comments on the ideas of a project of a building complex, conceived and designed with environmental psychology in mind. The object of the project is temple of Peace, the first ecumenic shrine to be built in the world. It is to serve and unite different religions in one place on the site of the former nazi extermination and forced labour camp in Majdanek, Poland. Canter's "Psychology of Place" provides guidelines for theoretical considerations. Basic conceptions, activities, and physical attributes are discussed as the constituents of the shrine as a place. Special attention is paid to the spatial solution of the ecumenical contact activities."
