The study, undertaken by a group of European social psychologists, concerns the experience which French and Italian Visitors and temporary residents have of the city of Rome. This study is part of the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Project. Its specific aims are as follows: (1) to gain insight into the psychological 'processes by which users perceive their urban environment; and (2) to study how psychological representations of the environment are related to social represent. ationalsystems used in defining the urban environment.
