"The objective of this paper is to present a case study of the rehabilitation of a high-rise family housing project in San Francisco to provide attractive housing for low-income elderly persons. The author's role was first, as a programming-consultant 'translating"existing environment and behavior research on elderly housing for use by the design team. And second, condu&ng a simple, no-budget post-occupancy evaluation (POE) of the building, three years after the residents moved in. These two phases of work will be described, and some of the POE results briefly presented and analyzed."
