"The Parker Morris report: "Homes for Today and Tomorrow" was published by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government in 1961. Effectively the report changed the way in which the design of housing was related to the needs of people and also by implication changed the nature of housing research in the United Kingdom. Specifically in the 1960s and ‘70s, but the report’s influence can be traced to the present day. One of the effects of the study was to provide a setting for post-occupancy evaluation of the home and the estate outside the dwelling. It also encouraged multidisciplinary research mainly between architects and the social sciences of sociology and psychology."
