This report aims at providing a brief presentation of major stages of people-environment studies in Poland in the perspective of the most relevant theoretical orientations, basic trends in their practical application, significant tendencies in the development of institutions associated with issues pertaining to human beings and environment, as well as contemporary developmental tendencies in environmental education that focuses on human issues. The report encompasses a relatively long period of people-environment studies in Poland, a broad spectrum of research and practical disciplines, versatile theoretical orientations and extensive research activity documented in a vast body of publications, and thus the presented description is not free from a subjective bias.
